That Deep Sea is the most exciting watch Rolex has announced since the Sub LV in my opinion. Just pipping the SS GMT IIC of last year.

Can’t wait to see the actual specs on it. But that depth capability, ceramic bezel and extra 2mm in diameter are good starts.

OK, they’ve introduced some fantastic timepieces in recent years, like the YM II, but this is one that I really like and can probably afford. If I can find one. I’ve never seen a SS GMT IIC in the UK yet.

Another example is mine. I just purchased a GMT 16710 in September with an F77XXX number and it was likely made in ‘04. Dealer stated he would have had it two Christmas Seasons had it not sold this year. I think perhaps longer. I got very lucky and paid 1300 less than the March 2008 price. Sometimes they just sit around a while, but I have a BNIB watch all the same.

I always wear my Rolex, except in the shower when I clean it.
Two days ago, while I was drying off the watch with my bath towel, I dropped it.

Straight down 3+ feet….on a tile floor…..bang!

I expect dings and have dropped my other GMT before, but this time it has had an unexpected result.

It now keeps almost perfect time!!!!!!

Since I bought it (8/07), it has been slow 3 seconds per day. I set mine daily to the time.gov. so I have a good baseline on how she ticks.

Two days have gone by and it’s MAYBE 0.3 seconds fast now!!!

I hope that I didn’t screw something up, but for now all is good!

Hello all,

Playing around with my 3 month old SS GMTIIc I discovered the following:
1-Grab bezel with both fingers as if to turn the bezel either right or left. Without actually appliyng full force to jump bezel to the next hr mark, just wiggle softly left and right and you’ll notice a very little play!! I asked RSC NY and they said it was normal.

2-Also if you grab bezel with two fingers, one at 9 position(on dial reference position) and the other at three(on dial reference position) try to move it horizontally left and right and you’ll also notice very little play(looseness)! Rolex also says its normal.

If you try this with say the Sub, you won’t get play, then again Rolex attributes this to new ball bearing system on new GMTiic.

Can owners of GMTIIc or anyone else please clarify/verify this and confirm on their watch???( GMTIIc, if you own one)
Any imput will be appreciated!!

Is it just me or has Rolex made the blue a bit pale. I have a TT Sub with the blue dial and its so blue and deep I love it. Why I wonder, has Rolex changed it? Personally, I would go with a WG Daytona first but with that faded blue on the WG Sub I don’t think it would ever be an option for me. Any thoughts?

Just one last point — on the latest Rolex Canada price list at the dealers, I noticed that they specifically used the term "maxi dial" to describe the models that had them.
